- - Ganke Lee[src]
Ganke Lee is a student at Brooklyn Visions Academy and is Miles' roommate.
Biography[]
Meeting Miles Morales[]
Ganke and Miles mostly kept to themselves despite being roommates. Though they were often in the room together, they didn't speak during the first two weeks, with Miles undergoing a lot of personal turmoil about being in BVA and his newfound abilities, while Ganke was often on his computer or phone or reading comic books. During the course of Miles' struggles, he ended up accidentally making a mess of their room a couple of times, though Ganke seemed blissfully unaware of his roommate's participation in the mess or didn't mind.
At one point, Ganke returned to their room and saw the Spider-Gang all huddled together on the ceiling. When Spider-Ham spoke, Ganke passed out and was tucked into his bunk; when he woke a few minutes later to find the room empty but webbed up with some visible damage, Ganke ignored it and went back to sleep.
Some time after the latter's debut as the new hero of New York, his roommate Miles introduced himself to Ganke as Spider-Man. Ganke was amazed and the two share a fist-bump.

Trivia[]
- Ganke had a much bigger role in the film originally, as shown in the Alternate Universe Mode cut.
- In the initial cut of the film, he was voiced by Peter Sohn.
- Some notable differences between the Alternate Universe mode and the final cut include:
- Ganke was already friends with Miles in the beginning of the film.
- Ganke and Miles' shared interest in music, with the draft cut showing Ganke's music production/beat making hobby.
- The radioactive spider that gave Miles his powers came close to biting him in school.
- When Miles got his powers, Ganke found Miles stuck to the ceiling in their dorm room, helped him figure out that his powers had come from the spider bite, like Spider-Man's had, and later tried to help in his attempts to hone his abilities.
- Bob Persichetti explained that he was cut to shorten the film's runtime,[1][2] but Phil Lord, and the other members of the creative team, have also stated that it was partly because the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Ned Leeds was very similar to Ganke.[3][2]
- He is expected to return in the sequel.[3]
- Ganke telling Miles he's not his, "Guy in the chair" is a jab at the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). In said movie, many aspects of Miles Morales' characterization was used for Peter Parker, including giving him a best-friend very reminiscent of Ganke Lee in the form of Ned Leeds who acts as Peter's, "Guy in the chair".
- According to actor Jacob Batalon (who plays Ned Leeds in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films), he tried to contact Amy Pascal about possibly getting cast as Ganke.[4]
